We must be gearing up for WordCamp season as it seems like there’s exciting news about new meet ups every day. Today we’re bringing you details of a couple of WordCamps that have been announced for this autumn: in Belfast and Kyiv.
First up. let’s talk about WordCamp Belfast. Confirmed to take place on the 1st – 2nd October 2016, the event is due to be held in the Peter Froggatt Centre at Queens University. Attendants can expect something a little different at this WordCamp, as the event is being themed around Game of Thrones. For those not in the know, a large chunk of the show is filmed at various locations throughout Northern Ireland. Fittingly, a Belfast WordPress agency (1440) has designed a Wapuu of the North mascot to head up the event.
This is Northern Ireland’s first WordCamp, which makes it even more exciting, and tickets are on sale now – only 300 are up for grabs so do nab yours early to avoid disappointment. To stay in the loop on social media, keep an eye on the #WCBelfast hashtag on Twitter.
In other WordCamp news, Ukraine’s first event is due to take place in Kyiv on September 24th – 25th, at the Incom Business Center. Ukraine has been arranging WordPress conferences and meet ups for the past few years, but this marks the first official WordCamp event.
It’s great to see more and more corners of the globe developing engaged WordPress communities, and launching a WordCamp event is a fantastic way to bring that community together. We’re looking forward to keeping up with all the news about WordCamp Kyiv and those looking to attend can purchase tickets from the WordCamp site.
