The latest maintenance release for WordPress has hit the web and WordPress 4.8.1 is now available. WordPress 4.8 has already been downloaded over 13,000,000 times and all users (and anybody still using a previous version) is urged to update to this latest release.
Twenty nine fixes and tweaks are present in WordPress 4.8.1, most notably the debut of the Custom HTML widget and fixes to the rich Text widget. A full list of changes is included in the release notes.
To update to WordPress 4.8.1 simple log into your WordPress site, access the Dashboard, Updates and click ‘Update Now’.
