Continuing on with its domination of the WordPress hosting market, WP Engine recently secured $250m in funding from Silver Lake to boost the development of its Digital Experience Platform.
We’ve spoken previously about WP Engine’s incredible achievements over the past couple of years and the latest figures show that the company now has an incredible 75,000 customers on board, showing customer growth of 30% in the last year.
When asked about the latest funding, Heather J. Brunner (CEO of WP Enigine) had the following to say:
“We are partnering with Silver Lake because of their incredible track record as technology investors, their understanding of digital platform businesses like ours and because of the alignment in core values we share… This partnership will help us further invest in our Digital Experience Platform and bring the power of our platform to WordPress users all around the globe.”
In related news, Greg Mondre (Managing Parter of Silver Lake), Lee Wittlinger and Mark Gillett (Managing Directors of Silver Lake) will all be joining WP Engine’s Board of Directors.
